Located on the former RAF Locking site, Locking Parklands is a large-scale site that has approval for mixed-use residential, employment, education, retail and leisure. The development has progressed the first three phases of residential development with a further 1,200 residential dwellings set to be delivered under future phased development. The site will also deliver up to 5.5 hectares of employment space, 2 hectares of retail, 5 hectares of leisure use and a wide area of green space and landscaping.

Infrastructure works consist of a network of site roads, with a central spine road creating a new high street and new S.278 access junctions all delivered to a stringent site design code to deliver the Homes England aspirations for the site. New incoming services and utility provision along with a strategic drainage strategy for the site form part of the extensive site delivery requirements.

Key Facts:

  • 1,450 Residential dwellings to be constructed;
  • 35HA of landscaping and open space;
  • RAF Memorial constructed on site as a reminder of the site history;
  • Full refurbishment of the former RAF Chapel Building to create a Community Centre for the Locking Parklands Residents and wider communities.
