Revetment Works underway for next phase of Swansea University’s Bay Campus

As part of the Phase 2a development at Swansea University Bay Campus, sea defence improvement works are taking place to enhance and improve the rock revetment. These works will provide stability to the embankment and prevent future erosion and reduce overtopping.

The design includes for a new rock revetment to be constructed over the extent of the frontage of the phase 2a Academic Building and ties into the existing rock revetment sea defence formalised as part of the Phase 1 development.

The rock revetment to the Seaward face is largely complete with the Campus facing works consisting of the formation of the block stone retaining wall, swale and landscaping all progressing well.

The project is due for completion in December 2017.
